Hi everyone and welcome!
I am John the new owner of the Raven Community.
We took over a little while ago but after some problems with the content management system and then some more bugs and issues we finally have everything ironed out!

There is a ton of awesome information here and as a gaming freak I am excited to carry on the legacy of the previous owners and contributors.

Much will remain the same like informative information from Jorge and Col.J.P. and some things will change a little. A new CMS will be added in the relatively near future and the forum will change soon as well. Don't worry nothing will be lost. All of the content and posts will move as well.

Giza Plateau another excellent map from The Tech for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix. The map supports dm, tdm, ctf, inf, dem, ctdm, cctf, elim, gold ktmwtb and tktmwtb game types and will host 32 players in all game types.

This one is an original map for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, a fun map supporting DM, CTF game types and hosting up to 16 players. This map is based on the Monopoly board game, placed around the map are the Hotels (red) and houses (green) some of which you can hide in:

Maybe the next version will have buildings you can enter and an underground jail! Not much cover here so grabbing and capping the flags will be fun. A must for you to try out.

This mappack for Soldier of Fortune II contains some great maps created by gynek including NX Splinter Cell, DM Condom, Finca Yard, Billiards Table and The River (new)!

Most of these maps will support all gametypes for sof2 and upto 64 players, apart from Finca Yard and Billards Table which only support 32 players!

This is a nice medium sized map for Soldier of Fortune II supporting ALL gametypes. Its based on a kam style map with plenty of places to explore and hide for your next victim. The map will host 2-20 players and the map has some secrets for you to find.

"I'm writing this open letter to announce my resignation from Raven Software effective Wednesday, June 30th and to let everyone know that this pending departure is both amicable and mutual. What can I say? It's been a hell of a ride.

In the past seven plus years I was fortunate enough to be able to contribute to twelve Raven Software titles alongside the most talented group of people I've ever had the good fortune to work with. I want to thank Raven for giving me the opportunity to start my career in game development and I send out my best wishes to everyone at Raven and Activision for their continued success. I know you'll all do well.

I'm sure the question many of you are asking is "why?" (Then again, maybe you aren't!) Put simply, I've reached a point in my life where it's time for me to move on to new challenges…to take some risks and make some time for a few things I've always wanted to do. I don't deal well with "what might have been" scenarios. That said, there are some shots I need to take and I believe now is the time for me to take them. The way I see it, if I don't do it now, I may never get the chance again."

Here is the fixed version of The Shop Nightfall for Soldier of Fortune II from Rapier! All errors and bugs have been fixed, so now you can enjoy the map as intended to be. The map supports CTF, DM, TDM and INF game types and will host 16 players.

This map is only a variation on our usual "Shop Nights" but I believe it will be worth it!

This map is awesome! Its a medium sized map for Soldier of Fortune II based on a town theme. There are plenty of places to explore here, buildings under ground tunnels roof tops the lot. I tested this map in CTF mode, and I must say grabbing and capping the flags are sure going to be interesting!

This map will also suit the snipers out there, and there are plenty of places for the ambushers as well. This map supports dm, tdm, ctf, inf, cctf, elim and dem gametypes and will host 16 players.

And, in the author own words:

"This map also has buildings that appear only in certain gametypes. With a few secrets and overall fast paced action for fragging and lots of good snipe angles. Flag postions are also placed in some great locations.

After some consideration , I removed the CTDM gametype that forced it to D/L if on a server. If anyone wants that game type added, I' ll release it with the added gametype."

So there you got it, almost a masterpiece, you can't miss this one so go get it at SoF II Files!

This new version of the Weapon Mod is for Soldier of Fortune II single player only. The Weapon Mod, is just as the name says; it's based around weapons. Players weapons, enemies weapons, emplaced weapons, you name it. The mod tries to keep a balance between realism and fun. Weapons are more like their original counterparts. Magazine sizes are more correct, damage, penetration and range is determined by the bullet, and so on. The mod also give new sounds, which have more "balls". No more small pops, a machinegun sounds like a machinegun. Not to mention the many new weapons the mod adds to the game!

Some new features in version 5.0:

-New M4 Tactical Carbine and Silenced M4 Tactical Carbine
-New M1991A1 and Silenced M1991A1
-New SG-551 Carbine
-New AKM with 4x scope and Silenced AKM with 4x scope
-New silencer sound effects (made from the normal sound effect

Some of the modified Stuff:
-Modified some effects
-MM-1 uses two types of 40mm grenades: The M406 HE and M433 DP. 6 per type
-The Laser and Light of the non silenced Mk. 23 work now!

This is a nice outdoor snipers map for Soldier of Fortune II, with the Red base and blue base seperated by water, and the only way accross is via a bridge, dodge the snipers and grab the flag if you dare. A good all round map that should do well on custom servers.

This is a small sized map for Soldier of Fortune II, made up of two identical end zones, one with the red flag and one withe blue flag. There is a open space with little cover in the middle.

If you liked the Film you will love this map for SoF II,the only thing missing here are the zombies, this version has a lot of added features and very well done it is to. The map supports DM, TDM, CTF, INF and ELIM game types and has enough spawn points for 50 players on each team and well over 70 for deathmatch!
