During a recent h4><0ring incedent
involving the id Software Mainframe, a number of screenshots from
the forthcoming computer video game 'Quake IV' were leaked into
the public domain. These pictures are from the very early stages
of development, but give a general idea as to how the game will
appear when it is finally released.

This pic shows the primary weapon,
dubbed the 'FUCKER'. It appears to be a basic automatic
weapon similar to the machine gun from Quake III. (Note
the lighting and translucency effects, this game's graphics
are truely superb.

The outdoor areas can be an important
feature on some levels. When the 'Pitch Black' bug has
been fixed, there could well be some incredible scenery
and skylines. id Software promise an exciting, realistic
experience every step of the way!

Take careful note of the transparency,
lighting and detailed textures. If used correctly, these
could help make some truly breathtaking levels.

Some of the other awesome weapons
on offer.

There are two types of grenades
as standard, although one is, quite frankly, shit.

The code for the bots has been ripped
straight of Quake III, and promises to be every bit as
tough and menacing.

TAKE SOME OF THAT! A menacing enemy
creature eats some fiery death from another new weapon
- the 'Bane of London Homeless'.

There was bound to be some plagiarism
from the enemy AI and models in Daikitana, however i am
suprised Killcreek was copied so exactly.

I get the impression from this picture
that the enemies in Quake IV will be as frightening as
they will be deadly.

I would hate to have those fierce
jaws digging in to me...

Another enemy Rottweiler on the

One last treat - the astonishing
mirror effects.

If Quake IV lives up to the hype, id Software
will have a winner on their hands yet again, these screeshots
can leave the fans assured that they will be getting a quality
product in good time. |
