| The new MP5 model from SoF II | 1:56 by Col.J.P. |
Planet Soldier got details on the upcoming weapon of SoF II: "The weapon model appears to be the A5 variant of the MP5 (note the retractable stock and 3-round-burst trigger group, which has selections for Safe, Semi-Auto, Burst, and Full-Auto) fitted with a screw-on suppressor, as opposed to an actual MP5SD variant. Of course, someone will probably point out that the MP5 is a weapons "system", and that the 3-round-burst trigger group could be installed on A2 or A3 variant MP5."

| Interview with Bryan "Apoxol" Dube, Ravensoft programmer | 1:48 by Col.J.P. |
Planet Soldier interviews Bryan Dube. Here are some extracts:
"The upcoming patch is focused toward fixing as [many] issues with the game as possible in both single player and multiplayer while also trying to add a bit more content for the multiplayer crowd. The upcoming patch will feature 1 new gametype called demolition as well as 4 new Raven made maps. "
"Modding is a huge factor of FPS games these days and a good mod can pull in thousands of new players. Supporting this community as soon as possible only makes sense."
You can read the whole interview here .

Very similar to the V.I.P. pistol from Navy Seals, this skin looks a little like the golden gun from 007. I don't think that it will work in jungle missions as well as the camo, but nice to have.

| Jedi Moves Mod for JK II Updated | 1:36 by Col.J.P. |
A new version of the Jedi Moves mod is out in version 2.0.Developed by Master D-Ley Amas this mod enhances the player fighting movements:
*All saber styles are now infinitely chainable (in multiplayer only), giving medium style back it's advantage and giving strong style an added edge.
*The dual-bladed saber can now be activated without using cheats in multiplayer, just type "thedestroyer" into the console at any time, or bind it to a key - ex. "bind z thedestroyer", Z being the key you want to use to activate the dual blade.
*Dismemberment is now enabled in multiplayer (with the v1.04 code) to enable, type: g_dismember 100 cg_dismember 100 into the console (must be enabled on server to work)(this only needs to be set once)
*The moves that have been altered-
-roll forward, left, or right: cartwheel
-roll backward: butterfly
-jump: force jump style instead of pansy normal one
-fast saber style: replaced with one-handed (Tavion) style
-strong saber style: replaced with one-handed (Desann) style
-backstab: all saber styles now do backstab instead of swing back
-walk: now walks with saber raised, for effect while dueling
-getup: instead of struggling off of the ground, you "force" getup

| Webmasters Tourney sponsored by Pro-Filer | 1:36 by Col.J.P. |
Now, here´s a pretty nice challenge from SoF II Files´s Pro-Filer: "About 1,5 years ago we had a cool fragfest party with some of the sof webmasters and other "important" community members. I was just thinking we should hold a little "SoF 2-sites-webmasters" tourney. Like each Site is represented by 2 persons. We should play 2 vs 2 INF and personally I think every-man-for-himself-DM as well :D (oh yeah Pro-Filer loves DM yes!) Anyways, I think it'd be a nice way to duke it out in the game we're all pimpin', SoF 2 :D So tell me what you think, you can e-mail me back but best way would be to hit this forum thread ..."
Of course feel free to make suggestions for this "tourney" @ Pro-Filer . Back to top

Pro-Filer, from SoF II Files, sent a message last night highlighting a brand new MP map from Pharaoh_FS. Been playing it for some time, and it is pretty cool. Its a medieval village, with a castle, a church and a lot of Hexen type houses, if you know what I mean, mixed together with a soft music extracted directly from Morrowind. I was amazed by it.I really think it deserves more attention. Another thing that makes this map great is that it supports all current Gametypes!

| IRG Coruscant Mappack for JK II | 1:22 by Col.J.P. |
A three map Free-For-All pack developed by Fairuz "GhostBear_74" Mustaffa:
"This is my first Jedi Outcast map. I have never made a Quake 3 engine map before thus it map is my learning map so to speak. I really push the limit in terms of size on this map. Originally this map consist of a Power Generator room, a lobby with a cantina and alot more corridors and a hangar. Unfortunately with all that included the map have a frame rate of 10 to 20! sometime less! 1 month worth of work was cut from this final work in the end. However this map is still a resource hog and it may be better if ya use a lower resolution when playing this map. Despite all it's shortcoming I learn tons about making map and I have to credit it with teaching me most of the aspect of making map and it's limits."

"Back in the day, LucasArts was unstoppable. The company created hit after hit, from the Monkey Island series to Sam & Max Hit the Road to Full Throttle to Dark Forces and its incredible sequel, Jedi Knight.
Of late, the company has stumbled with its experiments in adapting properties (like the Star Wars universe) to various genres. Even the most recent Monkey Island game made less of a splash, in part hampered by the replacement of insult swordfighting with Monkey Kombat. So it’s natural LucasArts would turn to one of its most acclaimed series.
It worked. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a page out of the old, unstoppable LucasArts playbook.
The game starts slowly, with Kyle Katarn back in mercenary action with Jan Ors. Kyle gave up the Force after his Dark Side turn (in Mysteries of the Sith), though he’s still sympathetic to the New Republic. In fact, he’s helping root out Remnant forces — folks trying to bring back the Empire — when Jan is killed by a raptor-faced Dark Jedi. (He and Kyle are both Jedi Outcasts, hence the title.)
Kyle vows revenge, and the game kicks into high gear."
Andy Grieser @ ESCmag
"Anyone looking for some great multiplayer action would do well to try this one out.
Kyle Katarn is an idiot. Before I can begin this review, I must get that off my chest. You see, he lived the dream of millions of us wannabe Jedis, then turned his back on the order because he was afraid of the Dark Side.
Given the choice between turning dark (with the ability to choke people who piss you off) or walking away from the Jedi lifestyle, I am certain I would opt for the path that would leave a ton of choking pain in the butts behind me. Besides, the Dark Side dudes get all the women. When was the last time you saw a Jedi Knight score in a cantina? Exactly(...)"
John Misak @ PC Game World Back to top
"I think this is the highest score I’ve ever given a game on the Empire. Looking at some of the great titles I’ve had the privilege of reviewing, it seems slightly out of place that a sequel that seems nothing more than a solid game should claim the mighty rare "9". Some would say that 9 is in fact the highest expression of numerical value. Philosophical and numerological propositions aside, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (SOF2) is definitely deserving of all its praise and all of its high scores and ratings."
It was the highest score a game got at the The Armchair Empire
"Two years ago, Raven Software teamed up with Soldier of Fortune magazine to put us in the shoes of real life soldier of fortune John Mullins. What set it aside from most other FPS games of the time was their GHOUL rendering system, which basically let you shoot the bad guys wherever you wanted and see them take damage and react accordingly, along with some of the most bloody and gruesome death animations seen in a game. Within minutes of starting the game, they had you running through a subway, with terrorist arms and legs flying everywhere, heads exploding, and other bad guys keeling over in graphic agony. Yes, shooting another man in the crotch was never so much fun.
So here we are a couple years later, and they’ve given us a sequel promising better graphics, improved AI, and, of course, an updated version of their GHOUL rendering system to make all the bad guys look even more realistic. Basically more of the same, and then some; which is fair enough since that’s what sequels do. You’re still John Mullins, which is a very fine thing."

| SoF II Mod Source Code Available | 2:29 by Col.J.P. |
"If you've been paying attention, you'll remember the ManDown Modification for SoF2, which added (among a host of other things) a real-time clock, the ability to go prone and roll, and name identifiers over players' heads. If you were thinking "Boy, what I could do if I could get my hands on that source code," then you're in luck. Here's the e-mail from Kris:
The current source code to Man Down has been uploaded and is now available here . Got a new review today done by ReviewNation so here's the scoop!
"I'm sure most of you out there remember Soldier of Fortune, a game which, in my opinion, earned its popularity solely becuase of its violence and gore. While it had fairly good AI and level design, it also had boring, repetitive, colors and textures, and gameplay that simply didn't measure up to some of the other titles at that time. But since you could blow arms off people with a shotgun, who cares right? Eh, maybe I'm being too harsh, but when you compare the first SoF to it's sequel, Double Helix, the difference is remarkable."

"Did you ever want to be a mercenary? Have you ever had the desire (especially nowadays) to tame some unchecked aggression by viciously slaughtering a band of terrorists whose nefarious scheme is about to throw the entire free world into chaos? If you answered yes, then now is your chance. Since joining the armed forces and scoring within the range of “morally flexible” on the psyche tests is not an option for everyone, the fine folks over at Raven have given us Solider of Fortune II: Double Helix. This title not only enables players to step into the shoes of a real-world soldier turned mercenary for hire, John Mullins, (who has been able to accomplish the afore-mentioned objectives in the real world) and dish out some of the most brutal forms of punishment to any bunch of ne’er-do-wells in need of a serious beating, but also provides players with a bit of insight as to what such a life may actually be like, dismembered limbs and all."

"Back in 2000, Raven Software shocked the masses with their controversial first person shooter, Soldier of Fortune. Welp, the sequel, has finally hit stores nation wide and is sporting a more realistic feel, some amazing graphics, and all the limb flying action you can handle. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, so prepare to get dirty as I run some details by you while sharing my overall thoughts."

| JK II Dark Forces Mod Update | 1:30 by Col.J.P. |
Dark Forces, a Jedi Outcast TC recreating the original Dark Forces game, is on its way.
"Have we got eye candy for you! Remember yesterday I mentioned about that Executor map I've been playing? Well I went through it again today at took 12 screenshots - they all show the map in action, memorable parts and the new textures. Don't let the thumbnails put you off, these screenshots really are amazing - and they still don't do Phantom Lord's excellent map justice. Have a look at the screenies .
We also have some very early screens of level 6 (Crix Madine's Fate). At this stage there are no Dark Forces textures in, but they are coming! Though, I believe the beginning of the map would look better with JKII's rock formation texture. Take a look for yourself here ."

We also have a new poll starting today; thanks for all the votes on the last one!! The new poll ask Should random m16 jamming be implemented?. Jamming was synonymous with the m16 and the harsh enviroment of Vietnam. If jamming were to be included, it would most likely be a server side option. You would have "three" options if your m16 jammed; break out your trusty colt, pick up a weapon from a fallen enemy (or friend), or duck aside and take some time to fix it."

| Mindless Games reviews SoF II | 4:05 by Col.J.P. |
Reviewed by Evan"DarkFriend"Lesser SoF II does´nt seems too impressive to this guys:
"For a long time, Raven Software was known only for developing games with fantasy themes. These games, including the Heretic series, its popular offshoots Hexen and Hexen 2, and their precursors Black Crypt and Shadowcaster, were all artistic gems, combining an obvious love for the genre, along with exceptional technical skills. A few years ago, Raven and its long-time publisher Activision acquired the rights to use the "Soldier of Fortune" license, taken from the magazine of the same name. The plan was to develop a gritty first person shooter where players became a mercenary for hire, gunning down terrorists across the globe. With an intended focus on realism, more than a few people wondered if Raven, a fantasy game developer, could take on development of a game set in the "real world." Any skeptics of Raven's abilities to create a decent game without swords and sorcery were dashed with the release of Soldier of Fortune in 2000. Using a heavily modified Quake 2 engine, Soldier of Fortune was the bloodiest shooter ever, with a story and flow that played out like a blockbuster action-thriller movie. Even though the Quake 2 engine was well aged in 1999, Raven managed to add enough new features to it to make Soldier of Fortune another gem to add to the company's crown. It proved that fancy graphics do not themselves make a game. Solder of Fortune's gameplay was fast and furious, with satisfying weapons, better-than-average enemy AI, excellent sound, and plenty of interesting locales for the player to gun down baddies in. In particular, the smooth, motion-captured character animation and the possibility of "bolt-on" items for models added a degree of realism that first person shooters had not yet seen. Word traveled around fast. The combination of "over-the-top" blood and gore, fun gameplay, and a controversial license made the first Soldier of Fortune an instant hit.
It was no surprise that Raven and Activision teamed up again to create the next step in the Soldier of Fortune world. Released late last month, Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix promised even more action, more realism, and more unique scenarios to put the player in. How does it fare?"

| Server Messaging 2.0 is out at Custom Instalations | 1:31 by Col.J.P. |
"Server Messaging 2.0 is a windows program designed to broadcast messages at pre-determind intervals to your server. Type in the IP, Port and Rcon Password of your server, set a time interval add your messages and thats it. Server Messaging can then be minimized to the taskbar and it will continually broadcast your messages to your server until you stop it. You can also send automated server status commands to your server at pre-determind intervals, this is handy for collecting player ip's for player banning. If your server is running on linux you just need access to a windows machine that has an internet connection, setup Server Messaging and thats it!"

| Action Vault reviews SoF II | 4:16 by Col.J.P. |
"Due to their extremely dangerous nature, covert operations are the realm of a few rare individuals possessing special skills and knowledge, the proverbial nerves of steel and plenty of plain old luck. One such person is John Mullins. In real life, he was a distinguished member of the US Army Special Forces, rising to the rank of Major before retiring. During this time, he became perhaps the most thoroughly trained warrior ever produced by the American military, extensively schooled in airborne operations as well as demolitions, SCUBA, counter-terrorism, skiing, mountaineering and more, even becoming conversant in Russian, Spanish and French. A decorated veteran of action in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Central and South America and the Middle East, he didn't retire to a life of leisure, but rather to that of a mercenary. "

| SoF II Agent Rez Mod Rising | 4:00 by Col.J.P. |
"Ray "MeridianBlade" Detwiler sent word that the Agent Rez mod is really taking off! So far they have implemented Multi-Player Bots, new 2D art, a Stamina feature, and are working on new Subway and Bank maps. As always, they still can use some help, so if you're interested, stop by their site: here
This mod will have both Single Player and Multiplayer. Here´s the SP story:
"Agent Rez of the CIA covert op's division considered himself quite average and low profile until January 1, 2000. Following a new years party, Agent Rez is introduced to a low profile terrorist network, that the CIA has been investigating for years, but could not do anything with the situation for lack of evidence. The terrorist activity was deep seated within the CIA's least suspected locale: the United States of America. The group proves to be a cult who believe in United States supremacy, and will stop at nothing to sabotage and destroy opposing nations. Their wreckless acts provoke war enthusiasm in several European and Middle Eastern countries, who say that it is America's problem, and they must cease these terrorists before America has more enemies than they can deal with. Agent Rez and fellow operatives will be led on a global quest through research facilities, secret bases, and terrorist outposts to find the evidence that will lead them to the network's core." | Editor Choice Award for JK II | 2:36 by Col.J.P. |
"Having finally established themselves as a triple-A developer, Raven was handed the keys to the holy grail of game licenses-Star Wars-and asked to produce a sequel to Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, one of the most revered Star Wars games in history and one of the finest action games ever in its own right. Given the company’s unprecedented experience with Quake technology (Hexen II, Heretic II, Soldier of Fortune, Elite Force and the upcoming Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix), the decision to use latest iteration of the Quake III Arena engine under the hood of Jedi Outcast was a no-brainer.
Without having to worry much about the technology of their game, Raven was free to devote all of their creative energies to making a great first person shooter (FPS), and by the end of the adventure, I was left with no doubt they had succeeded. "

| JK II Raven´s Claw released | 3:45 by Col.J.P. |
Made by Raven Software and converted by Volratxp, the Raven´s Claw can now be used in any MP custom map:
"A lot of people have been wondering why it is that the Raven's Claw model does not work when imported via misc_model into a mp map. Basically what happens is the main body looks black totally. Upon initial research into the problem, I first had to find the textures for it (models/map_objects/kejim) in the assets0.pk3 file. Using Milkshape I was able to import the model where I was able to texture it and whatnot, create my control file and export it. Now, first problem I ran into was that each side of the engine where the middle of the engine sits (the engine caps) were both named eng_cap, so the export process basically removes one of them cuz they have the same name. Went back into Milkshape, changed its name and reexported. That fixed that small issue. I created a small box room with it inside and went in. Originally I left it in the kejim folder. When I got in it was still black on the body. I moved everything to another directory and pointed the groups to the textures there, and voila! It works!"

| Soldier of Fortune II Reviews | 2:52 by Col.J.P. |
Four Soldier of Fortune II : Double Helix reviews:
Ryan Newman gave it nine out of ten: "Starting off Soldier of Fortune II, I was a bit off-set by its 1.6 gig install – 1.3 gigs to install and 300 megs needed to swap – and going through the first level certainly didn’t raise my hopes. I had viewed the original Soldier of Fortune as a slightly above-average shooter with buckets of blood, and the beginning of Double Helix starts out very similarly. It’s odd to say now, but I had to make myself play it when I first started; the basic weapons, unoriginal level design and repeating enemies just didn’t get me(...)" But, then: "Things all changed once I started the second level. Gone was the feeling of ‘been here before’ as an action-packed sequence began were the player gets to utilize a machine gun mounted in the bed of a truck and let it rip at oncoming enemy trucks, complete with AK-toting passengers(...)" Read the full review at The Entertainment Depot
Antares33 reviewed SoF II, and gave it 84%: "The original Soldier of Fortune blew the gaming community away with its amazing depiction of blood and guts, but left a little something to be desired in the way of gameplay and plot. Soldier of Fortune was a solid shooter, but it never really stood out aside from all the blood and guts. In many ways, Soldier of Fortune put Raven Software on the map for the mainstream FPS community. The Soldier of Fortune franchise is back for another crack at FPS infamy, this time around sporting updates of every kind. Including a chillingly updated version of the GHOUL damage modeling technology that earned the original Soldier of Fortune it's notoriety." Read it at AllOutGames
CJRavey at BarrysWorld : "Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix is violent. Really violent. What`s more, the game is technically excellent in terms of graphics and physics - which means you`ll see a lot more detail in the violence than some may find palatable. Let`s be honest though, others will love every minute of it."
And finally Rorschach at GameOver : "Raven Software seems to have a pretty solid understanding of what 1st person shooter players want in their games. They began working in FPS games with Hexen 2 and Heretic 2, but I didn’t really take notice of them until Soldier of Fortune a couple of years back. They followed that with Voyager: Elite Force, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Jedi Outcast earlier this year." Back to top

| Hydroball- JK II Underwater Game Mod | 3:57 by Col.J.P. |
This Mod is something else, it introduces a new gameplay mode: Hydroball. Compete against other players in an underwater game. Fists will be your only weapon while in the arena, and alt fire while holding a direction will allow you to tackle or side-burst. While in the arena, your health will always be full - when you take damage, use force power, do a special move (including tackles), or move while carrying the ball, your stamina will drain. While in posession of the ball you cannot use tackle moves, and primary fire will charge the ball to throw (the longer the charge, the further it goes, up to 4 seconds) instead of punching.

| Mature and Clean Servers at SoF II? | 3:15 by Col.J.P. |
Of course, it is our ultimate goal, too. I´ve been in contact with Everett Basham , who has a very interesting proposition for us:
"I've been in touch with some other sof2'ers in regards to what an "ideal" server should have - we (30's type) are thinking that it would be nice to have a mature server that isn't infested with a bunch of 12 year olds who are just out to massacre and offend others. We've also come across a *WIDE* range of cheating - most of which I need a network analyzer to view.
We also have the resources to setup multiple game servers - each optimized for different types of play (such as excluding RPGs, or maybe a handgun only server) - something to add some challenge and make it less of a bloodbath."
"After grabbing the sof2.com domain back from the cybersquatter who's been doing nothing the past 2 years, I have begun setting up a dedicated server facility to offer exclusive SOF2 multiplayer gaming. I have several extremely fast servers dedicated to this, along with 2 T1 lines for bandwidth. (more is available on a pacbell DS3).
I've had alot of positive email contacts from new players - and met quite a few people online - I definitely think this one is a winner."

So ,only if you're willing to spend about 1-2 hours per day reviewing/uploading files then please email me big grin. The News poster doesn't have as much work as the file reviewers, but yes, it still requires an update everyday!
I'm looking for some dedicated staff here, so if you're just planning on sticking around for a week or two, then don't apply! Once again, just be sure that this is what you want to do and that you'll stick with it wink Experience would be recommended, and a knowledge of basic HTML might be helpful though not completely necessary."

| A new SoF II mod "Man Down" hits the community | 3:18 by Col.J.P. |
Kris finally released this Multi Player Mod for SoF II. Let´s see what he says: "Finished up testing things out today. Just wanted to see if I could find any huge show stopping bugs before sicking it onto everyone else.
If you can run Man Down on a dedicated server, please let me know so that I can post information about it here and/or mention Man Down is being used in the host name. The in-built browser shows which game is running under 'server info', but not in the general list. I should have updated it to check for Man Down specifically, but (stupidly) I didn't. With any luck, clients will have auto-download set and get everything they need when they connect. Thankfully there isn't much to download, as even unzipped, it is barely over 500k.
Current feature list: * Abililty to go prone, shoot, reload and roll while prone * Server option - g_allowProne [0/1] - used to disable/enable prone * Client option to use previous & next weapon keys to zoom with * Client option for 'toggle' duck similar to Medal of Honour : Allied Assault * Enabled included bot code - good for testing and quick bash, but need .wnt files * Auto-crouch jump to make it easier to get around * Client option to display a team mates name over their head, rather than an just an icon * Carried game items shown over team mates head * Carried game items shown on radar/auto-map * Added (appropriate) single player sounds files to the .voice files * Added ability to change which radio messages are in the Radio Menu * Added ability to bind keys to voice messages through the menu * Added auto-voice option for important information and/or lazy players... heh * Server option - g_autoVoice [0/1/2] - disable, enable some or all auto-voice coms * Better third person angle handling - no more bending at the waist all the time * New death messages - based on weapon, hitlocation etc * Locations automatically added in RMG based levels based on game items and area of map * Client option to show current local time * Client option to auto-reduce eye candy to maintain a steady framerate * Slightly tweaked ladder code - easier to jump off them, *should* be easier to get down * Updated menus - all weapon options moved to 'controls -> weapon' etc * Changed chase cam to non-locked third person view * Made incendiary grenades less 'spammy ' - can walk through flames with out slowing down * Err, other stuff...
If this version goes down well, I'll keep working on it and get a proper page put together by, err, probably me.
And remember, READ THE (CENSORED) MANUAL!"

| Soldier of Fortune II Tweaking Guide Released | 0:26 by Col.J.P. |
Got this message from Thomas McGuire: "We've finally got around to posting up our Soldier Of Fortune II Tweak Guide, dealing with loads of in-game settings & commands. Currently the guide is more oriented at the Single Player game given people have more problems with that. Here's a snip; -sys_cpufeatures "x". This setting merely for informational purposes, though I'll mention it here as seemingly some have passed it off as a potentially way to optimize performance. The value indicated here is a calculation based on features supported by your CPU - with 1 point for Time Stamp Counter, 4 for AMD 3Dnow! support, 8 for SSE & 16 for SSE2 support. Changing this total as a result will have no effect on performance (& seemingly SOF II isn't optimised for any instruction set anyway)."

| Tactical Operations a new SoF II Mod | 8:15 by Col.J.P. |
Ladislas Valek is heading a new SoF2 MOD, entitled "Tactical Operations". He plans to add more realism, more weapons, and implement a new SP system that's completely random-generated. However, he does need help from the community. Currently he needs anyone with skinning/modelling/coding experience.
"The goal was to make the ultimate gunfight PC game, with fully configurable environment. A bit like CounterStrike, but more flexible and with a solid single-player mode. Ihis project was based on the Doom (well, Doom Legacy) source code. Yeah, I know, don't laugh. But now that I've seen the soooo great technical features of SoF2 (maybe a bit too great for my old Pentium III, but that's not the point...), I really think a realistic, fun-to-play, tactical, single and multiplayer mod can be created for this game. If you're a skinner, coder, modeller, or little genius with what you think is THE idea, then write me as soon as possible!"

| The JK II Unofficial 1.04 Patch Mod Released | 8:42 by Col.J.P. |
"Someone compiled the source code that was released by Raven in the second release of the JK2 editing tools, which is what Raven wanted the 1.04 patch to be. So this is basically an unofficially-released 1.04 patch for JK2, with no changes made except those by Raven. Of course, anyone could download the JK2 editing tools and compile the source code that comes with it, but this way it's done for you, and everyone can download this "U104 mod" and play it. Note: This is packaged as a mod, not an installable patch. This means that you can put this PK3 file in your base directory and still join 1.03 games. It's like skins or levels in that if you have it, but the server doesn't, it will simply be ignored."

| Cowboy´s SuperIP 1.2 Script Updated for mIRC | 3:35 by Col.J.P. |
"What is SuperIP?" you're probably asking..
Well, I like to call SuperIP "The ULTIMATE on-line game management system for mIRC" because that's what it is to me..
SuperIP is the culmination of a LOT of time spent using mIRC, chatting, playing games, basically just goofing around. Somehow, during all that goofing around, I managed to write a few thousand lines of code, and SuperIP is the result.
SuperIP will capture dropped game links in IRC channels that you're in and catalog them for future retrieval(...)
Thanks to integration with QStat, SuperIP can now query game master servers, to retrieve an up-to-the-minute list of what servers are running, who is playing on them, and more.
What you can expect:
* Reliable operation * It's completely, 100% FREE OF CHARGE, forever * Easy-to-use dialog-based controls and options * Easy-to-recognize servers with custom game icons * All settings stored in one SuperIP.ini file, not hundreds of mIRC global variables * Easy integration with other mIRC scripts * Auto-update notification (for new versions, updates, etc) * Parse, Capture, & Query Servers for these major games: o Half-Life o JediKnight 2 o Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (no master server query) o QuakeWorld o Quake 2 o Quake 3 Arena o Return to Castle Wolfenstein o Soldier of Fortune 2 (no master server query) o Tribes o Tribes 2 o Unreal Tournament

| Eurogamer Soldier of Fortune II review | 3:06 by Col.J.P. |
EuroGamer kicks off the week with this morning's review of Raven's somewhat hit-and-miss shooter, Soldier of Fortune II. Here's a little something about the game's saving grace, it's range of multiplayer modes, including a random map generator -
"Where the random map generator (and the game itself, for that matter) really shines is in multiplayer. Here you won't have to worry about enemies with pixel perfect aim and X-ray vision (until somebody creates an auto-aim bot, anyway), and capture the flag games are a joy to behold, with up to 32 players on each side battling back and forth over a vast map created spontaneously at the beginning of each match. Occasionally you end up with a map which is too open (leaving your base difficult to defend) or too constricted (with everybody funnelled through one or two central choke points), but usually the result is highly enjoyable anyway."

"These files make it so that you can have either Desann's saber, Luke's saber, or a Reborn's saber in SP. You also be Luke, Desann, or a reborn in SP. (Souds change with each saber choice).
You should find 6 pk3 files in there. 'skinname saber.pk3' 'SP_skinname.pk3' You should have Desann, Luke and Reborn. Extract only the 2 files you wish to play with and not any other! As in, one saber pk3 and one SP pk3. This should also (hopefully) satisfy some of you who've been dying for some change in SP. I think this is the first Reborn SP (maybe even Luke) mod I've seen smile..."

Galaran made a cool Slo-mo mod for Jedi Knight II...Take a look at this, it´s amazing:
"A true slomo script binded to the q key for ALL Quake III and Quake III Arena based games. WORKS IN MP!!...JKII, MOH:AA, Return to castle Wolfenstien, Star Trek:Elite Force..etc...For JKII, it slows down without the 360 pan, and stays slow till you turn it off."

This so far is my favorite map made to date, its great for a nice sized match (5-5). Second is a map named Fourt that's made by SimLehmann , a small Dm map that can be fun for a smaller type match (2-2) Last map for tonight is named Fragger's Apartments made by Fragger. | AE Stats for JK II and SoF II updated | 1:03 by Col.J.P. |
Aeons Stats utility has been updated and got now support for SoF II and JK II...What is it and what does it do?
"If you have a game server running and got tons of log files loaded with information?... looking for a parser that will generate statistics and ranking in form of neat html pages?... fast, easy to use and configure?... if so... then æstats is just the thing for you.
The æstats package will read game log files for just about all shooters and convert them into a platform independent log format, the meta log format. this is done by the first module (executable) called preaes.
From there the second module called aestats will take over. it generates meaningful stats and ranking pages in html from the meta log file you feed it."
See here for more detailed information.

Just received this message from Shake :
"I've released to the SOF2 MP community my private script which I have been using for a while now. It is a sniper rifle-centric script that also has features for players who prefer other weapons instead. It's free for anyone else to modify and use.
I decided to release this so others can get into the scripting aspect and maybe get some more fun out of the MP game. I'm happy to contribute back to the SOF2 community. Check it out!
