Doomsday Engine update10:19 by Col.J.P.

The Doom II Retexturing Project sends word that they now have a high-resolution version for all the textures in Doom II. Way to go, guys! The whole package is a tad large, though (180 MB).

There's a couple of new models being prepared for the next release of the model packs: Ophidian for jHeretic and Ettin for jHexen. They should be available for downloading soon.
The Fourwinds FTP server that hosts the downloads was offline for a while. It should now be working again.

Parallel Universe Mod for Elite Force2:37 by Col.J.P.

Lots of red around the ship. Telsia now has pinkish eyes, Foster has colored ... things on his head, uniforms are white on the top and females have some kind of purple chestplate, Biessman has red lines across his face, and the doctor still has stuff on his face. A wierd yet unique mod...incredible stuff!

Jedi Temple2:33 by Col.J.P.

This map was made from a scene in Episode II with Yoda,Obi-wan and Wandu walking down the temple of the Jedi Council. The bridge and the pillars are the same but the floor and wall textures are totaly different and the room has been modified. Dont try to jump from the floor to the bridge you can't reach it even with max force jump use the two box shapes on the wall next to the bridge to get up!

Clan Tools is a package with a bunch of programs designed to help online gamers. You'll get a IRC Scorebot which supports quite a few games, a Clan Manager to keep your business in a clan under control, NTP Alarm to synchronize your system with an exact time, and a customized mIRC.
Version 1.5.2 fixes a HUGE bug in Clan Admin and V-Script, as well as major issues in IRC Score (thanks to the beta testers and everyone who sent bug reports and feature requests). The detailed change log is here. Also included is a new version of NTP Alarm and the Integrator.

SpaceBall 1 for Jedi Outcast 2:45 by Col.J.P.

Living Dead Jedi's latest work. This map is based on the movie Spaceballs: For those of you who have not seen the movie NOW OUT ON DVD GO BUY IT! This is the bridge of the main enemy ship and it also has some of the extra areas mentioned in the movie.....
Basically Spaceballs is a comedy movie that uses influences from every major Sci Fi film from Star Wars to Star Trek, and Aliens to Planet of The Apes...





Shoot Things in the bar to get sounds and stuff also one button on bridge to activate Ludicrous speed. ALL BUTTONS MUST BE SHOT!

A new multiple gametype map for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix made by Flyin' V with special thanks to Foyleman for his great tutorial, and forum help. "Foyleman, you rock. Also, thanks to Skiman, Felladeath, and Tomaje for help in testing and suggestions."
This map is basically a set of two forts in the mountains separated by a cave area.

International Crime Syndicate goes Mod2:04 by Col.J.P.

ICS is a multiplayer mod for Soldier of Fortune II, with an emphasis on team play. The mod contains a new gametype called Assassination, as well as enhancements to the existing Infiltration gametype. All ICS maps are designed specifically for Assassination and Infiltration, although they also support Demolition, Elimination, Capture the Flag, Death Match and Team Death Match. ICS offers weapon tweaks in order to make the game less "noobish". The auto-shotty, grenade launcher and RPG are not present, plus we limit the use of m203 (noob-tube) grenades. ICS also has many useful admin features.

Now they've decided to take ICS to the next level. ICS will not only be a map and skins pack, it will be a full-blown mod. They have a lot of exciting ideas for ICS including a new gametype called Assassination, as well as enhancements to the existing Infiltration gametype. Elite Force II Interview4:51 by Col.J.P.

Star Trek: Elite Force II is visually stunning, to say the least. We talk to character artist Brian "BoBo the seal" Jones about creating character models and the advantages Ritual's technology offers there.

"We knew that EF2 was going to be a pretty large game so we decided early on that we would work within a phase system (which means prototyping before creation). We focus our efforts towards getting as many of the assets into the game as possible at phase one. This is usually a first pass mesh and a rough skin. We go back at a later date to bring the characters up to a phase two status, which includes some model tweaking (if needed) and taking the skin to a near shippable quality. Finally, phase three consist of a final pass on both the model and skin. Working in phases allows us to get assets in the game quicker for testing and game development."

C. Gfx Artist

They also need an additional weapon modeler, weapon skinner and player skinner. If you can do anything else, for example map, they could always use more of those, (maps play a very important role in a game).

Uniform Colors Mod (3.0) for Elite Force4:30 by Col.J.P.

This MOD is for use on Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. It changes the Hazard uniforms from Red (command) to Gold (security) because the HT are a SECURITY force. The HT uniform is also transformed from black to white, like an evi suit (the Haz suit is supposed to survive in space). and it also changes the HT helmets from black to white (like the space suit from the show)

This MOD includes:
-New Hazard uniform
-New helmet textures

The KV Coalition sound pack ver 3.0 replaces over! 111 ! event / weapon sounds with more accurate and detailed ones, which makes it THE most important piece of sound modding available today for Soldier of Fortune II. Gaming Help Center is a website built for the gamer in distress. You come here to find help about games or to find the right game for you to buy. This site is almost entirely client based which means that it doesn't expand unless you ask questions and interact with the other viewers via forums.
You can post a gaming problem and it will be answered on their forums and put on the site. The person viewing the website helps build it. Questions (gaming questions) are very important so ask them. Currently Gaming Help Center (GHC) is only PC based but if we get popular enough we might add other fields such as X-box and PS2.

Jedi School for the entire JK II Community4:34 by Col.J.P.

This may be what we're looking for to help get the community back on its feet. Anyone who wishes to can get involved, as a teacher or a student (hopefully experienced people as teachers.) is welcome.

"Greetings, this document has been written after researching through the players and by my personal experience as an ex-leader and after having many padawan’s (over 20!). All that is written down here are serious projects that I consider important in order to save JK2 and help the clan as well.

-Clan Projects-
Chapter 1 – OmNi Clan School

This is part 1 of the JK2 Rescue Project and it’s for the clan itself, it consists of creating a new “division” that would be the OmNi Clan School. The OCS is a kind of pre-OmNi club in which players that seem to have a good future with omni but that are new to the clan would go in. For example, the guy has been playing in the server for 2 or 3 days and he’s been showing a good spirit of the game and interest in omni itself. Well you invite the guy into OCS, once he’ll be in, he’ll have sessions with OmNi’s named Masters and he’ll be “tutored”(...)

-Community Projects-
Chapter 2 – Jedi School

This is the 2nd part of the project. We all are aware of JK2’s actual situation… the game is dying and so is the community.
Someone said one day “If everybody would clean his courtyard, the world would be way cleaner”
Well this is the idea of this project, getting rid of the troublemakers like it’s always been done and Care of the other ones. All those new players, who have no server they feel welcome in, most of the players, are just changing from one server to another. The idea is about having the Jedi School.

Chapter 3 – JK2’s Community Rescue

Like it’s been said on chapter 2’s ending, the community is the only one that can save itself from dying… The ones that have the biggest influence over all of this are the Clan Leaders, they lead clans and have their own servers, and the biggest part of the servers is Clan Servers.
The Jedi School project can have a BIG influence over the JK2 Community if all the clans would apply it. Famous saying comes back again…“If everybody would clean his courtyard, the world would be way cleaner”."

Mon Calamari new Jedi Outcast model3:54 by Col.J.P.

The Mon Calamari are said to be the soul of the Rebel Alliance. The Empire pressed these gentle, amphibious people into war by subjugating their watery world. In retaliation, the Mon Calamari became one of the key species of the Rebellion, supplying badly needed warships to the outnumbered Alliance fleet.
The most respected of the Alliance Mon Calamari is Admiral Ackbar, leader of the fleet. The stern gravelly-voiced tacticians led the fleet as it engaged the Empire at the critical Battle of Endor.
The Mon Calamari people are humanoid, about 1.7 meters tall. They have salmon-colored skin, high-domed heads, webbed hands and large, goggle-like eyes.

Model detail is quite good, down to the fish-like whiskers. Skin detail is prety nice as well. There is a helmeted and non-helmeted version of the model, and you will find five default skin styles to choose from, plus team color variations. It was developed by Moooa and includes bot support team colors and new sounds.

The Moons of Bogden: Kohlma Ruins, a new duel map for Jedi Outcast2:18 by Col.J.P.

"The small moon of Bogden, Kohlma, once served as a burial ground during a catastrophic war long ago. The ruins of vast graveyards blanketed the rocky terrain. An old funeral barge system that hauled the dead to their crypts in those dark times awaited slave ships carrying the Bando Gora’s new followers few years after the conflict on Naboo..."
A new duel map developed by Stamper, including a new skin, a Bando Gora skin and textures/shaders (like the map´s skybox) to use at your disposal, just give the author credit for it.
This is a prequel-expanded universe map based off of a level in the new LucasArts release, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. It is a small section of ruins on the Bogden moon of Kohlma, the moon where Jango Fett gets recruited by Darth Tyranus for the clone army palette. Contains mountain surroundings, a platform where Slave I (Jango Fett's ship) rests, and a cocoon-looking hangar in which you fight!

Its looks similar for the most part to the others except it has two BIG mountains in the middle, they have a room on top which are only accessible by a transporter as the mountains are surrounded by forcefields. As a voy map this is really cool and original!

This is version 2 of Occupation, an incredible single player mod for Jedi Outcast:
"Following on from Prison_Escape, Kyle is sent to infiltrate Galtech's HQ to discover more about their link with the Remnant. Kyle's investigation will lead him to a distant planet on the Outer Rim with an archaic culture and powerful overlords.
This map features numerous cutscenes, over 10MB of voice acting, altered NPC characteristics, a custom skin for Kyle, custom textures, 4 difficulty settings, and various non-essential things to discover, including the identity of the traitor among the townspeople!
Talking to some townspeople with your lightsaber drawn can frighten them and cause them to speak incoherently, avoid having your lightsaber active when talking to a townsperson where possible.
Try to talk to all the friendly people you meet, they may be able to provide important information and help. Be careful however as you are vulnerable to attack when talking, it is not wise to walk into a building and start talking to someone with enemies all over the street outside; it is often a good policy to clear the streets of enemies before you enter a building to talk to someone."

CTF Voy 358 for Elite Force2:52 by Col.J.P.

Another voy to add to the collection. Two bases are separated by a tower in the center. The flag is located in the back of the map which is a very open area. There are three trenches that go betwen the bases. Transporters will take you to various places and there's even a jump pad! Lots of space makes this map good for a full server (16) or maybe even more! A little lax on the readme, but it does the job.

Uniform Colors Mod (2.0) for Elite Force2:49 by Col.J.P.

The Hazard Team members now have yellow collars, as does Tuvok, tough I think Seven might not have been changed. The changing of the medical/science uniforms from teal to blue has been done away with, and the Hazard helmets have been changed from black to white, to be more like the show. If somebody could make proper EVA suits that would be cool. (There's an idea for version 3.)

An incredible US Socom Laser Sight/Silenced with a sound mod. This has been updated instead of 3 files there are now 5:
-socom_sil.pk3 will give your socom a silencer.
-socom_ls.pk3 will give your socom a laser sight.
-socom_sil_sound.pk3 the sound for the silenced socom. If you dont like it, here it is.
-sport_socom.pk3 will give you my custom socom skin which looks right, as the socom_ls has a black laser on it (edited).

Uniform Colors Mod (1.0) for Elite Force2:47 by Col.J.P.

This mod is for use on Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. It changes the Hazard uniforms from Red (command) to Gold (security)
because the HT are a SECURITY force. It also change the doctor and other medi/sience staff to Blue (sience/Medic) from Green.

This mod includes:
-New Hazteam uniform
-New Sience/Medical uniform

"What this does is change the Hazard suits from red to yellow, except the necks, which will be done for the next version. It also changes the science and medical uniforms from teal to blue."

Computer games have benefited from high technology such as faster CPUs, better graphics acceleration, and lower-latency network connections. Game developers have been busy taking advantage of state-of-the art technologies to incorporate them in the latest games.

An interesting question that comes up is, what influences the development of a high-tech game--a cool, new technology or an original game design? This is a debate that rages in many development studios. Ed Del Castillo, president of Liquid Entertainment and producer of the upcoming Battle Realms, says, "I think the technical challenge that faces all of us today is being in an 'imagination [in] transition.' In the past, the limitations of the technology were such that designers had a very limited set of things they could do. So their imagination was devoted to taking this limited set of tools and making something emotionally compelling out of them. Now, we are at a point where the technology has an amazing amount of power (relatively speaking) and the designer can request all sorts of things."

Dusty Death Dusty V2 for SoF II2:57 by Col.J.P.

This is a very nice original map that has had lots of work to it. I have been testing it through out the making. This is like the dust map from counterstrike but this one has been given a complete overhaul with all new textures added buildings and tunnels and a few hidden places I will leave you to find.
It was made by Hutch & Myrddin and supports all gametypes.

CTF Voy 2v2 for Elite Force2:46 by Col.J.P.

A voy2 remake. The main area of the base (where the flag is and back) is the same. What's different is the central area. The only way to get over the barricade it to photon jump over it; you can't crawl through it. If you go into the central structure and fall down the hole, there is an area between the bases with a transport to the other base. This is the only other way to get to the enemy flag (but it doesnt take you right to it).
Powerup placement is basically the same. The only problem I see with this map is that the flags are turned the wrong way, but that doesn't matter.

SoF II Game Minimizer v1.0.1.202:24 by Col.J.P.

Digitalfiend just posted this new minimizer version on the We Should Be Working clan forums:

"This minimizer is nearly identical to the other minimizer except for four features:
* It should work under WinME (not tested yet.)
Definitely works under Windows 2000/XP.
* Written in C++. Doesn't require the VB runtime files like the other minimizer.
* Supports auto-loading via GameSpy3D/ASE. Just point GameSpy3D/ASE to the SoF2_GameMinimizer.exe instead of SoF2mp.exe and the minimizer will take care of the rest.
* When started through GameSpy3D/ASE, the minimizer will detect when SOF2 exits and automatically unload itself from memory.

Other than those three things it works exactly the same as the other SOF2 minimizer. CTRL-Z to minimizer, CTRL-SHIFT-Z to maximize, CTRL-END to quit (added feature.)
If demand is great enough I can add the ability to assign your own keys to the minimize/maximize/quit commands. I'm also looking into a way to restore your previous desktop resolution when SOF2 is minimized. That way if your desktop is 1600x1200 and you play at 1024x768, when you minimize the desktop will go back to 1600x1200. This feature is now available in v1.0.1.12"

CTF Minx for Elite Force5:18 by Col.J.P.

Minx is an 'extension' to CTF Voy1. If you've played Voy1 on a full server (i.e. 16 people) you'll know it does get a bit squashy. Minx was made to fix just that! It's a LOT more open and some of the added elements still make sure the gameplay is as fast and fun as before!
For starters, the flags can now be found on the top of each base on a small (and very open to attack) platform. The transporters have been switch around slightly, mostly due to the two new bunkers added to the sides of the middle area.
Each bunker now has a glass floor/ceiling which is breakable, but only after taking a LOT of damage. Once the glass is broken, well, things like the detpack are a bit hard to reach (though not impossible to get). There are also jumppads now which instantly throw you into the very centre of the map which really helped keep the gameplay moving.
Weapon placement hasn't changed, except that you have new weapons and pickups in the two new bunkers.

Bot support for the map isn't too bad either! In the beginning the bots seems to stick around the bunkers, but once the game got started they were all over the place! They did use the same route though, but still, atleast they put up a fight!

PunkBuster News Update3:03 by Col.J.P.

Version 1.018 of the PB Server for Quake3, RtCW and SoF2 has been released to our PB Master Servers for pre-release testing. In order to test the pre-release, PB Admins should download pbsv.db for SoF2 into the appropriate home "pb" directory and overwrite your existing pbsv.db file. Then issue a pb_sv_restart command followed by a pb_sv_update command. This should initiate an auto-update to PB Server version v1.018. If pb_sv_restart does not properly restart your server, exiting the game server and re-launching it would be required instead of issuing the pb_sv_restart command. If your server updates to v1.018 but you experience problems and want to go back to the prior version, you should exit the game server and overwrite the pbsv.dll (or pbsv.so under linux or pbsv.mac under mac osx) with the pbsvold.dll file in the home "pb" directory and then restart the game server. Please send feedback via email about v1.018 and your experience following this update process to PunkBuster Testing.

Release Notes for v1.018:

* The pb_sv_noguidgrace setting now defaults to 1 which means PB will remove players who refuse to enter a valid cdkey 1 second after joining the PB Server.
* The SoF2 version now has 2 additional built-in cvar range checks for the r_ext_multitexture and r_allowextensions cvars.

ManDown news update2:57 by Col.J.P.

The ManDown website has been updated with new plans for "Major Changes" to this SoF II mod. Specifically, he's straying from the default SoF2 settings and attempting to "correct" various gameplay issues. Among other things, he's moving things like silencers and the M203 to the "Accessories" slot, changing "Secondaries" to "Sidearms" and moving the M590 and M3A1 to the Primary slot. Another priority is altering maps to alleviate spawn-camping issues, and correcting gametype issues:
"I've also decided to go through all the current gametypes ManDown supports and improve or remove any that either don't work or simply arn't being played. So far, I'm removed Elimination II and simply improved the 'spawntogether' option so that you can play regular Elimination on maps that haven't got team spawn points. Default SoF2 CTF has been replaced by Classic CTF - a change I think will help promote teamplay and make the majority of non-symetrical maps fairer."

After some months of work and some weeks of testing, the first public beta of SoF eXp is finally out.This first release consists of the following :

* nycctf2 - The Hotels

* sudctf2 - Missile Base (water for lava in the midfield)
* jpnctf1 - Parking (red abd blue sides swapped)
* irqctf1 - Wastelands (ripped open wall above corridor)
* sudctf1 - Flag Frag
* nycctf1 - Gangland (added crate in blue base for easier shotgun access)
* gerctf1 - Castle Kill (added an extra way out of base)
All the above maps got their items arrangement revisited (eg: shotguns added, other weapons moved or added, ammo moved or added).

...and a few miscellaneous fixes and handy commands.

[HH] Dominion (Daytime 2) for SoF II3:29 by Col.J.P.

Another "Hounds of Hell" medium size map was designed for Capture The Flag (CTF) play with up to 20 players. It does not support any other gametype.
Both the red and blue side bases are identical so that there are no unfair advantages. All the errors from the previous map have been fixed.

CTF BlastRadius (2.0) for Elite force3:25 by Col.J.P.

This map is an updated version of ctf_blastradius2 by [TDM]Tom Servo[MA]. No installation instructions, but it's not hard. Just put the .pk3 in your /baseef folder. This will replace the old ctf_blastradius2.pk3.
The transporters are a little wierd and you´ll still get a low FPS in some places but this one's not too bad.

Reduced Rocket Speed Mod (1.0) for SoF II´s Full Metal Rocket3:18 by Col.J.P.

This is a small "mod" for Full Metal Rocket, for those people who are finding the pace of Full Metal Rocket a bit too chaotic.
This mod will slow down the pace of the rockets by about 20 - 25%... just for you old folks with slow reflexes like me!
Load Full Metal Rocket through the Mods menu in SOF2, or run the FMR.BAT file to start the game.
Full Metal Rocket is an insanely fast-paced arcade-style mod, designed primarily for single player deathmatch against bots or over a LAN - although it can also be played online for those adventurous enough. You can find it here.

Just when you thought this game community couldn't get any sicker, behold the JK2 Swimsuit Calendar 2003!
"What we have here is a series of 1024x768 BMP files, suitable for serving as Windows wallpaper, or just plain ogling if that's what you prefer!
These photos were created by starting with screen captures of real JK2 skins inside the game, adding a few PhotoShop retouches to get rid of seams, and integrating them with some form of background image. In some cases, specific skins were created exclusively for this calendar. We have taken great care to not exceed a PG-13 rating in the decency category, sort of what you'd find in the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated or some similar magazine.
Captions from the images are included below. We have attempted to be very careful about crediting every skin/model creator, but if we missed someone, we sincerely apologize!

Eye Candy at 45th Platoon mod for SoF II3:06 by Col.J.P.

The 45th Platoon is a mod based on the war in Vietnam. The goal of this mod is to put you into the hellish battle that was Vietnam. Though we know nothing can compare to the actual feelings that took place in the Vietnam War, we hope to do it justice.

"The last few months have certainly been our hardest and "least" productive overall. After Phan's absence, the holidays crept in quickly causing more drag on things. Nevertheless, those have past and Phan is back; things should be going normal in the mapping department now. Hmm, speaking of mapping, we also brought on a new team member since our last update. Torchy was picked up as a mapper to work alongside Phan which should bring some new style and more maps."

"EULA Like It" a new map for SoF II2:08 by Col.J.P.

This one is a small deathmatch map with some interesting features made by EA}Bennett{Gnl.
The name of the map still puzzles me and it's not a serious map it was map for fun.
There is a nice lava pool. Watch you step on the mines they can hurt. There is a nice mirror for you to look at yourself in and some rather odd flames:

Sebulba model for Jedi Outcast1:57 by Col.J.P.

This model's physique is pretty darn close to the real Sebulba. He definitely looks like he is walking on his hands and holding a saber with his feet, and in action, he freakishly looks like a thing from another world. Facial geometry detail is not super-fine, but a really great balance between excellent detail and limited polygons. Should be pretty smooth on most renderers. There is no LOD support.
Not only will you find team colors, but also Racer and Jedi outfits for Sebulba, coming to a total of 5 variations.

Soldier of Fortune: PhoeniX8:40 by Col.J.P.

A gameplay and map conversion for Soldier of Fortune players. Soldier of Fortune: PhoeniX (SoFPX) marks the dawning of a new age for the faithful community of the original Soldier of Fortune.
When the sequel was originally released, XS and Jay were party to Raven's 'Beta Test' team, and they were immediately aware that the speed and action of the original SoF were somewhat lacking in SoF2. This was partly in an attempt to attract a new, broader audience to their game, and some would say they succeeded.
In the meantime, the SoF community has been plagued with cheats, various issues that will never be solved due to the lack of developmental support, and consigned to a game engine and netcode both showing their age. Up until now, there has been no viable alternative.

Now we got the Project Phoenix.

This map is simply a little unofficial preview of Elite Force II developed by HorckDude/U.S.S. Speed, in their own words:
"At time of the release we're approaching the Elite Force II release date. Only a few more months to go. But when this preview was first created it was about 8 months away. HorckDude was looking over some screenshots and when he saw the shot of Starfleet Academy the idea came to recreate it for EF1, as a preview map for the Elite Force community. It didn't take long before USS Speed, who had earlier created the EF2 Munro skin and EF2 phaser rifle, was contacted and together work began.
The map was kinda forgotten for some months until it was picked up just before christmas. The map and NPC scripting was finished by HorckDude and USS Speed finished the remaining skinning work."

This Jedi Outcast mod is based on the anime Rurouni Kenshin. You'll be able to play with all your favorite characters including: Kenshin, Sanosuke, Jinne, Shishio, Hiko Seijiro, Soujiro, Raijuta, Enishi, Saitoh Hajime, and others.

"We will give this mod the feelings of the anime. We will try to make the mod as similar as the anime. Each character will have their own special techniques and combos. Each of them will also have their own speed, strength, and stamina so that each character has his or her own advantages and disadvantages."

Soldier of Fortune II Mac Review: Poor Mac Gamers3:34 by Col.J.P.

Judging by this review of the Soldier of Fortune II Mac port it seems that Mac gamers are in trouble playing SoF II:

"When I first opened the game, I was a bit confused. I was staring at a mess of a menu that looked like someone had rubbed sand all over my monitor. So, I dinked around with the various video settings, cranking them all the way up, back down, and all the way around. I could never get the menu to look nice. Finally, I gave up, and decided to play the game. The menu isn’t that important anyway. Little did I know it was an omen of things to come…

Once again, I was treated with grainy renderings that made it nearly impossible to make out what was happening. On top of this, the game lagged hard. The opening scene involves John Mullins driving around in a taxi in Prague on a rainy night. The rain seemed to slow the frame rate down so much that I couldn’t understand what was going on. The worst part was the entire first level has this rain effect. After playing with various video settings for nearly a half hour I gave up. I kept plugging away, hoping that after the rain effect was gone things would get better.
I forgot to mention that for the duration of the first level, the game looks so bad that I can’t tell where shots are coming from, and that it is nearly impossible to discern the enemy from the background. After getting through about 3/4 of the first level I had to stop playing out of sheer frustration(...)"

This review was written by Hummer at Game Helper with an overall score of 6 in 10:

-Fun factor: 5 – This game could be fun, but the hard system performance will frustrate many gamers.
-Game play: 5 – This would be higher, but on any default install, the game play was unbearable. After playing with various graphics settings, it got better.
-Graphics: 7 – Decent graphics, but you have to turn them down to play.
-Sound: 7 – Typical sounds effects, voices, etc.
-Value: 6 – The single player isn’t great, but it isn’t bad. The multiplayer scene is barren and lacks support.

CTF Observatory for Elite Force5:24 by Col.J.P.

This one is a medium sized map for capture the flag Elite Force. Despite its size Observatory still is a nice map! The map does look very visually "pretty" (or aesthetically pleasing, whichever you like!) A very neat map with two bases facing each other with a crosswalk between them. The crosswalk simply contains health pickups, while weapons can be found within the bases.
The flags are placed at a rather tricky spot and might be a bit hard to get to, especially if under fire and in a hurry! The bases also have pools at the lowest level which connect to the middle-area pool through tunnels. Another way to enter/exit the bases are two corridors that are semi-underground.
The map also has some small details all around that really help complete it. The only minor, little thing that seemed could hinder gameplay were the tight ramps on the sides of the bases that are used to get between the different levels.

Developed by PooP it has new textures and new sounds.

Hounds of Hell Dominion Daytime for SoF II4:29 by Col.J.P.

This is a medium sized map for Soldier of Fortune II with two sides and a mote in the middle. The player can interact with the map as it has lifts and doors.
The map for some reason comes in a self extracter (.exe file) I dont know why but it does! Please ignore the instructions to install it to (C:\HoundsOfHell) Instead direct it to extract to your base folder (C:\Program Files\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix\base) as usual.

Courtyard v.2 a new CTF map for SoF II3:36 by Col.J.P.

A nice capture the flag map devloped by Berre. It´s a small map but nicely made, it consists of two outer areas with a building to get through to get to the other side.
It is a simple map but a good first map.

Throneroom Duel map for Jedi Outcast4:05 by Col.J.P.

A nice little duel map for Jedi Knight II with a lousy bot support but interesting settings. Basically it´s made of two diferent colored rooms connected by an L shape bridge, in a spaceship travelling in space. You can see lots of stars through the windows and a big empty void!

PunkBuster News Update3:26 by Col.J.P.

As requested by Raven Software, in order to combat the more and more common lag-based script cheats being used in SoF2, we have added 3 cvar range checks to the PB Server for SoF2. These are for the snaps, cl_maxpackets and rate player cvars. We have released PB Server v1.015 to the PB Master Servers but only for pre-release testing at this time (pending feedback from PB Admins). In order to test the pre-release, SoF2 PB Admins should download pbsv.db (right click and save target as your PB directory) into the appropriate home "pb" directory and overwrite your existing pbsv.db file (NOTE: Do not download this pbsv.db file into the "pb" directory for any game except SoF2). Then issue a pb_sv_restart command followed by a pb_sv_update command. This should initiate an auto-update to PB Server version v1.015. If pb_sv_restart does not properly restart your server, exiting the game server and re-launching it would be required instead of issuing the pb_sv_restart command. If your server updates to v1.015 but you experience problems and want to go back to the prior version, you should exit the game server and overwrite the pbsv.dll (or pbsv.so under linux or pbsv.mac under mac osx) with the pbsvold.dll file in the home "pb" directory and then restart the game server. Darth T-Bone Temple 7 for Jedi Outcast5:24 by Col.J.P.

This is the beta build of the valleys in the upcoming CTF map “T-7”. The final map will have temples at the “boarded up” sections of the valleys. Lord Kaan is building the temples whilst Darth T-Bone is doing the exteriors. Bot routes lead the bots everywhere, so play alone if need be.
This is just a beta test, but it is worth the download, believe me...

Agent Rez SoF II Mod dying?5:00 by Col.J.P.

Agent Rez was the first mod for SoF II. They were the first to get a team together to start work on a mod for SoF II. They had a plan. Headed up by MeridianBlade. They promised us a brilliant mod for the game. But now MeridianBlade has left the team:

"We have had lots of up's and down's but this looks like the final straw for me. Things did not go my way and I have to leave the head position of the team and the mod, not because I want to, but because I HAVE too. So This is my goodbye to my friends, my team, and the community."

This is'nt the end of the mod yet....there is a chance that someone will take the lead role from the team and get things rolling for them again. They could always do with more support from the community. So if your a coder, mapper, skinner get in touch with them and see if you could help out.
This mod sounds good and would make a great addition to the game. So lets all hope that they finish what they started. Lets help this mod stay with us and become the best SoF II mod ever...
