Vavoom
This is a common source port for DOOM, Heretic,
Hexen and Strife. There are also some all-new features to the
engine like slopes, 3D floors and skyboxes. It offers not only
a Win32s but also Linux and DOS ports. Software rendering, Direct3D
and OpenGL are all supported. There's also MD2 support and a console.
All in all, the most featured source port for Heretic/Hexen.

wHeretic
This source port has been written with 100%
backward compatibility in mind. While there's no Direct3D/OpenGL
acceleration or a console, it should exactly feel like the original
Heretic, but at higher screen resolutions and with full support
for Win9x/NT.

WinHeretic and GLHereteic
WinHeretic is a Win32 port of the original
DOS game. It runs on Win9x/NT and uses GDI for graphics rendering.
GLHeretic is an OpenGL port of the game, supporting several OpenGL
features like colored lightning. It also has support for MD2 models.
The port is still in beta stage and has some severe problems when
playing.
The site itself has been abandoned years
ago and the author can't be contacted any more. If you know of
a way to reach him, drop
us a note.

LinuxHeretic
2 Linux ports. One is a port of the DOS
version and looks a lot like the original game, just in higher
resolutions. The other port is a Linux compilation of Kokak's
GLHeretic.
