open gl not working [HELP!!!]

well this is my system
p4 1.4 256ram
[win xp] upgraded from ME
my graphics card is a ATI RADEON DDR (AGP)
now when i try to load the game it says
"could not load open GL subsystem"
help me if you could plz thx

I'm not an ace at system issues, but I know others in this very forum have asked for help regarding the open GL problem. Have you looked at earlier posts? They may hold your answers. Just thought I'd let you know.

You need to update your ATI openGL support...
It happens a lot with ATI graphic cards.

Go in here:

http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html

Put your OS and your graphic card model , click "Go" then download and install the latest ATI driver for your card, it should fix your problem... [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

OTOH, its NOT a good idea to install WinXP over an existing OS (WinMe in your case...)
I solved all my XP problems only by making a clean install of the OS...
Be careful with that, it can give a lot of problems...

I had a similar problem with an Nvidia TNT2 card chipset, which was only fixed after installing and reinstalling Nvidia's latest chipset software. Now I have a better video card with open GL 1.2 Standard.

Are you sure you downloaded the right driver for your card?
What is the model?

well now when i try to install the upgrade it says "this display driver is not compatible with these display adapters" let me know if you know what is wrong.

You need 128 or 256 ATI Radeon 9200 or 9600, not ATI RADEON DDR (AGP).
